My name is Christopher Nils White, but I prefer to go by Chris. I have been practice for 14 plus years. I work with motivated adults, couples that are stuck but not experiencing intense conflict, and mature and motivated teenagers with families that are willing to consider family therapy if recommended. I also especially enjoy working with folks interested in using Internal Family Systems to increase their agency, relate better with their parts, and increase their access to self-energy.
My therapeutic and psychological training included a year of spiritual integration. This training has deepened my insight and mindfulness into my own bias so I can better set it aside in therapy to prioritize your needs. The models I utilize are Internal Family Systems, CBT and EFT for couples. My goal is to provide a safe environment for change where we can combine my curiosity, compassion, and training, with your wisdom, resilience, and life experience. Some ways that clients have described me include calm, curious, human, easy to connect to, and informative.
Feeling stuck, dealing with overwhelming pain or feeling lost is hard, but engaging in therapy is its own risk and is an act of courage. I will meet you in this place and help you resolve your challenges while honoring your self-determination and dignity as a person.
At this point, I am offering virtual sessions in California and Washington, with a plan to offer in-person sessions in Bellingham, Washington.
Treatment Areas of counseling: Relational concerns such as codependency and family conflict, existential and spiritual concerns such as religious deconstruction or religious trauma, anxiety, and trauma-related concerns, and adjustments to the loss of an athletic career.
